X5 makes compilation/ marketing/ distribution deal with Kinky Vinyl and Whoop Records, and starts a digital dance music projekt with Joel Xavier, co-owner of the labels.
Whoop! was started in the summer of 1994 and run by DJ’s Andrew Lekker and Joel Xavier who were inspired by labels such as the now defunct Guerrilla and Om labels. This left a gap for the so called progressive house sound, in other words pounding, quality grooves which are neither techno nor commercial house but banging, tuneful, DJ-friendly and accessible dance music.
