X5 Music in cooperation with Calle Dernulf at P3 Dans has started a new label focusing on dance/club collections. The label will license material from other companies and compile digital collections for the international market. This week the first album is released: Swedish House Trax vol.1.

– We think this is a genre that suits the digital music world and its customers, says Daniel Bäckström – one of X5 Music’s founders and the company’s creative manager.

– The purpose of our first product is also to show the world what the Swedish club scene can contribute with. This include our great and well-known DJ:s, but also the new generation. Dance and club music is something we have wanted to work with for a long time. We immediately jumped at the opportunity to work with Calle Dernulf.

The collection Swedish House Trax vol. 1 contains popular tracks from the Swedish house scene, including established DJ:s and artists such as Axwell, Pryda and Aviciii, as well as new promising Swedish talents such as Nause and Rebecca Fiona.

– It will be exciting to see what we can do together, says Calle Dernulf. Now that dance music is larger than ever I would, of course, want to spread both known and unknown talents from the Swedish scene. The first collection is launched in the commercial sound where there will be both well-known names and those underway who will dominate the scene in a few years.

The last few years X5 Music has been very successful in terms of customized digital collections. Several of these have been on the Billboard lists in the U.S. exclusively through digital sales.
