Europe’s leading digital music company, X5 Music, launch mastering activities in SkellefteÃ¥, Sweden. The studio will start with three full time technicians and they will have the capacity to work approximately 200 compilations per month. X5 currently have 10 producers, 10 graphic designers, 7 people taking care of the distribution, 3 people in the mastering and 7 in the marketing team, all of these work in an integrated production system.
– “With about 300 albums to be released every month, it will be a great advantage to have a mastering studio integrated into our production system X-ACT. This means that all parts of the production and distribution are handled in a system without any third party involved. As one company we are now able to handle a capacity as large as for all major companies together. As far as we know X-ACT is the only fully integrated production system of its kind.” explains Johan Lagerlof, CEO X5 Music.
Head of mastering is the local celebrity Fredrik “Fritte” Enqvist, coming from former Audio Alliance Studio in Skelleftea. Skelleftea team celebrated the launch of the X5 Mastering by releasing the in house-produced song “The Gold is Home” with Skelleftea AIK Hockey, currently #3 on iTunes.
